Gometrics has developed a solution that allows the controlled supply of gases to a reactor. The end customer is a renowned research center.
The project began with a request to supply three mass flow controllers with their respective controllers and culminated as a turnkey project – design, manufacture and commissioning – of a panel integrating more than 20 elements, of which three are from manufacturers represented by Gometrics: Brooks Instrument, Drastar and United Electric.
At Gometrics we have the capability to develop custom bench and panel projects.
The panel consists of three GF40 mass flow controllers (MFC) with Brooks Instrument’s MultiFlo technology, which offer excellent flexibility to the system as they allow to modify both the gases to be worked with and their range. Another important component is the SLA5820 Back Pressure Regulator, which is responsible for maintaining constant pressure in the reactor. The flow and pressure settings of the above equipment are made by a 0254 controller which, in addition to defining the set points, supplies power to the MFCs.
The supply of gases at a constant pressure is essential for the system to work optimally. For this purpose, pressure regulators from the Korean manufacturer Drastar were installed at the inlet of each of the gas lines.
Finally, the panel includes a small reactor that can be heated by a furnace. In order to provide all the safety required in this type of installation, a United Electric Excela electronic thermostat was installed, which acts as an alarm in case the temperature exceeds the established limits. In this way, all the elements of the panel are protected while having a reading of the process temperature.
