With this release Brooks adds to ETHERNET/IP™ a new digital communications protocol based on ETHERNET.PROFINET is widely used in the industry, being the Ethernet communications protocol used in SIEMENS automation solutions. Ethernet-based protocols are rapidly being adopted for their many advantages: they are cost-optimal, multi-drop access systems that enable much faster communications.
